This project was created for the Office of Civic Engagement and Service at NYU Abu Dhabi, focusing on turning values like care, empathy, and collective responsibility into objects people can actually hold, use, and keep.

The visual language is built around a set of illustrated symbols that represent different layers of civic engagement. Hands, hearts, conversation bubbles, light bulbs, the city skyline, nature, and the globe come together to reflect how service exists at many scales, from personal moments of care to broader community impact. I wanted the illustrations to feel friendly and human, avoiding anything too corporate or distant.

These visuals were applied across PR gift items including tote bags, packaging, and ceramic pieces. The goal was not to create promotional merchandise, but thoughtful gifts that feel intentional and reflective of the office’s mission. Attention was also given to material choices and packaging, keeping the experience tactile and considerate.

This project sits closely with my ongoing interest in how design can soften institutional spaces and communicate values through everyday objects. For me, these gifts act as small reminders that civic engagement is rooted in people, relationships, and care, not just programs or titles.
